The Vault uses military-grade AES-256-GCM encryption with PBKDF2 key derivation (100,000 iterations). Your documents are encrypted with a 6-digit PIN and auto-lock after 5-30 seconds of inactivity. Files are stored in a hidden directory (.nomedia) to prevent media indexing.
No! All AI features run completely offline on your device. This includes OCR text extraction, smart summaries, entity extraction, category suggestions, and PII (Personally Identifiable Information) detection. Your data never leaves your phone.
DocX automatically backs up your documents to Google Drive daily at 2:00 AM. You can choose to allow backups on mobile data or Wi-Fi only. If a backup fails, it's queued and retried when you're connected. Backups require battery not to be critically low.
No. DocX blocks screenshots and screen recording on both Android and iOS. On Android, it also prevents data leakage in the app switcher. This protection is active throughout the entire app to keep your documents secure.
